iOS Point-of-Sale Redesign

In partnership with Apple as a part of becoming a sponsored app, we were tasked with updating our experience and UI to be more aligned to Apple standards. Our goal was to use this opportunity to improve the overall process while modernizing the iPad point-of-sale.

 

Outcomes

  • Using updated brand colors, we improved overall usability of the iOS app while bringing it up to Apple standards.
  • We worked closely with Apple to get regular feedback throughout the process, finally getting their stamp of approval.
  • Updating the app also led to improvement in overall user sentiment by 63%.

This effort was initially led by a different designer, but this project was put in jeopardy due to not adhering to Apple guidelines and delays in deadlines. I was brought in to mend the relationship with Apple and bring designs up to their quality bar.

The original point-of-sale experience was clunky and outdate, not having been updated in a few years. Users also noted many issues with the experience and we felt that this collaboration with Apple was an opportunity to improve the overall experience as well.
